MACCO Advisory ("we") provides this website, a free tax calculator, a free budget planner, and the MACCO Budget & Tax mobile app. This page explains what information is handled and why.
The mobile app
The MACCO Budget & Tax app works without an account. Without an account, everything you enter, including your budget, categories and entries, is stored only on your device and we do not receive it. If you choose to create an account or sign in, the app syncs your budget with the MACCO budget planner on maccoadvisory.com, using the same information described in the next section. Tax calculator inputs always stay on your device and are not sent anywhere. The app may download updated tax rate tables from maccoadvisory.com; that request contains no personal information beyond what any internet connection reveals, such as your IP address to our web host. The app has no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools. You can sign out, delete your account from Settings in the app, or erase the data on your device at any time.
Accounts and the website budget planner
If you create an account, in the app or on the website, we store your name, email address, country, a one-way scrambled form of your password, your currency choice, and the budget categories and entries you add. We use this only to run the planner and sync for you, and to send a password reset email if you ask. We do not sell, share or use it for advertising. You can export your entries or delete your account and all of its data at any time, from the app (Settings, Delete account) or from the Settings page on the website. Deletion is permanent. You may also ask us to delete your account by emailing info@maccoadvisory.com.
The website calculators
The calculators on the website (tax, salary, loan, VAT and sales tax, and invoice) run in your browser. Figures you type, including invoice details, are not sent to us or stored by us. If you choose to use the optional "Stay in touch" form on a calculator page, we store the name, email address and country you enter, the currency or country you were using, and which calculator you were on, to send you occasional tax and budgeting updates. You can ask us to remove you at any time by emailing info@maccoadvisory.com.
Contact and enquiries
If you email or message us, we use what you send only to reply and to provide services you ask about.
Cookies and sign-in tokens
The website budget planner uses one session cookie to keep you logged in, and the app stores a sign-in token on your device until you sign out. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Security and retention
Website passwords are stored hashed, and login attempts are limited. We keep account data until you delete your account. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
Children
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
